I've heard of one fellow loosening the clamps and removing the pins and then using the tractor normally. (Cub or A/Super A--I can't remember which.) After a while, he said, the axles just about fell out. Of course, this doesn't really help with the tie rods. ( On my Cub, it looks as if someone once attempted to widen the tread as a pin is partially out, but then he stopped.)
