Wow, I did a really bad job of reading your initial post, so I'll try to compensate by adding more to what I've already posted. Price of $650 excellent if running and rest as you described, good if not running and not stuck - but you need to really check into why it isn't running. Are things like the carb. missing, etc? Could get expensive in a hurry if so. Haas' comments about the transmission are really important. Since this tractor has the same engine as an M, engine problems should be manageable, but getting parts, etc. for other areas of the tractor might be prohibitively expensive. Since this tractor has been outside, getting things loose also may be a struggle. A lot depends upon your level of comfort with doing things mechanical - or access to someone to do them for you. It's likely getting this tractor back to the condition you want it in might be a real project, and you'll have to judge how big a one it might be based upon the limited inspection you'll be able to make with it not running. On the other hand, a W6 is a lot like a tank - really an impressive looking tractor. It's also somewhat unusual. Could end up being a great deal for you if you're up for it. Good luck.

That was 10 years before I was born, so I grew up thinking that 8N was the world's best tractor. Grandpa had greenhouses, with over half an acre under glass, and that 8N did almost everything. It was the only
