Yeah, there was a test adapter available that replaced the top vent in the primary filter, but I don't know where you would find one. You may have to get creative with plumbing since they are reverse compression type fittings, or maybe use hose. A good plumbing shop should be able to get you the fittings and pipe. See if the primary pump will make 32-39 lbs into a dead end. If not there is a restriction somewhere or the primary pump relief valve is stuck open or opening too soon. If the pump makes good volume of fuel but cannot maintain pressure when connected to the plunger unit then the plunger unit relief valve is probably leaking. Since you had the primary pump out that is where I would start. Make sure in your disassembly that the relief spring or plunger didn't get left out or damaged accidently, or that a piece of foreign matter got lodged in there. If you determine that it is the primary pump and you can't find the problem, a diesel shop will probably work on the primary pump by itself cheaper than sending them the whole thing and asking them to troubleshoot it. Same way with the plunger unit, but you will probably want the service manual for it before you disassemble the pump. The book is expensive, but eventually worth it if you do much repair .Contact me directly if you want further specific info.

"It's a tough little tractor, although it's a hard starter being a diesel and all." He did manage to get it running, compliments of a can of ether. Once started it putted along pretty good. It
