I would think a decient shade tree mechanic could do it. if you don't have a repair manual get one, don't skimp. I would say its easy but I can fix most anything. Think about having the hd. resurfaced. these new gaskets don't have asbostos in them and don't have a good rep for not leaking use the high torque specks +10 # lube the threads and follow the torque secquance in at least 3 steps. I'm sure you can get all the help you need with these guys that read the board. Good luck
