Another electrical problem, Super A

Whenever I turn on the lights on my Super A the ampmeter shows a discharge, even with the tractor running at operating rpm. If I leave the lights on they will begin to dim, practically going out after about ten minutes. With the lights off the tractor seems to charge fine. Does this mean I have a short somewhere in the wiring that goes to the lights? Or is my generator maybe just too weak to overcome the additional load of the lights? You guys with lots of experience, what's your best guess? Thanks.
