Farmall M front wheels and tires

I'm looking for a Farmall M or Super M. Have located a nice M, it is a 1950 model but it has the non-adjustable front wheels and rims like the older H's and M's had. I did not check the casting numbers to see if they appeared original with the tractor. If I decide to buy it, I would like to change it to the adjustable rims that most of the later M's, Super M's, 400 and 450's had. Would I just be able to swap the wheels themselves or would I need a whole pedistal?
