Below is the Ebay ad.. I can't see where it said anything about fore sale and auction may end early.
1955 john deere 70 standard diesel loaded with all the factory options serial number 7018126. I bought this tractor about 6 months ago. It is all in all a super nice tractor. It had came out of a collection out in portland oregon. THe tractor runs absolutely flawless. THe big motor starts up instantly and runs great. I havent ran it for more then about two minutes tho since the previous owners had to lift it onto a trailer so they slung a chain under the fraim and when they lifted up it broke the water pipe flange. This isnt a huge deal, i will have another good one for the tractor, when the tractor is picked up. I was told the last owner got all the mechanical work done and all it needs is paint. i was told he rebuilt the big motor as you can see the new gaskets on the motor if you look close, the new tack says it has 80 hours on it. and i would believe this due to the way it runs. When i got it the pony motor didnt run and i havent had it runing iether. But you can absolutely tell for sure someone had the pony motor apart and rebiuilt it due to some parts in primer and some parts that arent, and new gaskets. THe pony also has a new mag box and you can tell carb is rebuilt. I would assume if you threw a battery in it it would fire rite up, i just havent had the time to do so. The tractor has new wiring and guages as well. IT has an adjustable standard front end which is super rare! These frontends usually bring $2000.00+ alone. It also has a rockshaft which is very hard aswell to find on a standard. the tin work is in good condtion aswell. THe nose has just a couple little dings, theres no major dents anywere on the tractor. The pony motor door opens and closes good. And the fenders are in good condition with just a couple little dents but arent all rusted out and junk like alot of them are. The tractor is about half in primer and half needing primer. IT has both originall kickplates which are in great condtion. aswell as a good battery box. lots of stuff was taken apart on the tractor, and everything is put back on now. there is lots of new hardware and parts on this. You can tell the clutch has been rebuilt and it works great. THe brakes work great aswell. It shifts into all the gears fine. The rear tires are about 60% with very minimal weathering, they hold air fine and would last for alont time. The rims are in good condtion as well and arent all rusted out. All in all this is a nice tractor that just needs some tlc and paint and would be in good restored conditon. THis is a very rare tractor wiht all the options and are getting realy hard to find. Today's Featured Article - Grain Threshing in the Early 40's - by Jerry D. Coleman. How many of you can sit there and say that you have plowed with a mule? Well I would say not many, but maybe a few. This story is about the day my Grandfather Brown (true name) decided along with my parents to purchase a new Ford tractor. It wasn't really new except to us. The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
