reichstall, I presume you're talking about a 4 cyl 4000? This wont help you much but I think it is about as good a picture as you will find anywhere online - or in any manual for that matter. It's from Messicks.com
This second photo is also from Messicks and is of a 3000 PS system. It shows a little more detail. I do believe the 2 systems are very similar though I've never been into a 4 cyl steering box.
I did the same thing as you did on my 3000 style steering valve - dropped all the balls, plungers and springs out. By studying the photo in my I&T manual for an hour or two I managed to figure it out and put it back together. I went to the dealer and he photocopied a picture from the Big Ford manual for me. It was the same picture/diagram as I'm giving you here and no better than the one in the I&T manual. Good luck.
