TO-30 change over from generator to alternator

can someone help me? I have a 1953 TO-30 THAT HAS BEEN CHANGED OVER TO 12 VOLT, BUT THE BATTERY WILL BOIL AFTER SHORT USE, I SUSPECT THE TRACTOR HAS BEEN WIRED INCORRECTLY BUT CAN NOT FIND INFORMATION ON HOW TO DO IT CORRECTLY. THE TRACTOR HAS ALL DELCO REMY ELECTRICAL. I NEED TO KNOW HOW ALT IS WIRED TO SWITCH, ECT....ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. JOE
