Posted a while back about my 65 multipower clutch pack missing the big snap ring that holds everything together. Well, I finally got around to pulling the trans apart tonight.
One clutch disc had no friction material, one had half, and one looked pretty good. I am confused about this gear and spacer plate though. It's the pinion gear that goes on the spline on the back of the input shaft which drives the tractor in low multipower range. The spacer goes directly behind it.
Without the snapring holding the clutch pack together it has obviously been pushing these two parts together pretty hard. The parts breakdown doesn't show a washer or bushing to go between, so what is all this galled up metal stuck to the two pieces? Is it part of the gear or the spacer? It really doesn't look to belong on either. I highly doubt it's my missing snap ring although I didn't find any trace of it.
