These are just some of the types of drawbar we use over in Britain.You will see we use the pickup hook a lot, but not for much PTO work, then we go back to the swinging drawbar. First pic is the modern version. Then the 70s type rod hitch on a 500 series tractor,then the 100 series chain hitch, all these hitches can easily take the swinging drawbar instead of the hook. Next is the old style 'T' bar pick up hitch, followed by the French type of swinging drawbar and the high pull type of drawbar used on the European Continent . The green belly shows the type of genuine bars you need to set the height on your tractor but beware these can bend if asked to stop a load rearing up, they are more for carrying a weight, My final pic is the one that should have been first as it is the simple Ferguson model 'A' drawbar.
