Well, I didn’t think there would be so much interest in Potted Meat. Some of you guys have mentioned things I am familiar with such as headcheese, I am ˝ Swedish & they call it “Silta”. We would get it mostly at the holidays & my Aunt made it from scratch. I remember how she would bring the pig’s head home in a paper bag from the butcher shop, real appetizing, but I ate the Ell out of it. There was another Swedish dish called something like “greaseatussa”, basically pickled pigs feet, and of course lutefisk, just cod soaked in lye. I currently have about 6 or 7 Swedish sausages in the freezer too. All good eats!!
BTW we just got up from dinner & had Elk burgers. Better than any hamburger I ever ate. Mutt shot the Elk, hope he gets another this year!
Gary; I’ll bring you some ground Elk when I come up next week if you want some.
