Tom........yer 3-speed 9N came from the factory semi-gloss GRAY allover; variously called battleship gray, forest gray, maintenance gray, and mondays gray would not match fridays gray. Today's Ferguson gray is very close to original Ford factory gray. In 1947, Ford changed the paint for the 4-speed 8N to lite gray and red ('cuz it matched the head designers wife's favorite dress, seriously) Many dealers repainted 9N's to look like modern red belly 8N's. Even later they painted them Ford Blue. Its yer tractor, paint it enny color that pleases you. ........Dell, the 20/20 painter......looks good at 20ft or 20mph
