Lyn, This looks like a Winget series 2 or 3; the earlier series 1 tractors did not have hydraulics. Original livery on the later tractors was usually yellow (like the dumpers) with green wheels, so I imagine this one may have been painted red at some point. Normally powered by a Lister SR1 8BHP air-cooled 552cc single cylinder engine with hand-start. The one in your picture obviously has the optional electric kit on it, so probably has electric start as well. Parts for the SR1 engines are still available. The front-loader looks original, although the roll-bar is most certainly a later addition. As regards the pedigree of the tractor - excellent workhorse, poor brakes, damned noisy, if you use the loader then make sure the wheels are as wide as possible, since the vehicle is liable to tipping on uneven ground (less-so than a similar-sized Kubota, I have to say), front king-pins and steering are a weakness, and the wheel-weights at the back put additional strain on the joints between the wheel-plates and the half-shafts, so if you put a transport box or large trailer on the back be careful you don't over-load it and sheer a half shaft. Gearbox parts are almost impossible to find (I'm looking for a half shaft for mine at the moment)

12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
