A lot of the farmer around here used Belgian work horses because they where multi purpose. Also many used Morgan the same way, a light/faster work horse. Grand Dad always had Percherons for the heavy work and Belgians for the light work. When they had all horse power he had over twenty horses on the farm. Used to run six horse teams plowing. Work one until lunch and another in the afternoons. My Grand Dad came home from school at lunch just to change the harness while the men eat their lunch.
