It is hard to determine the right setting without the make and model, but I will try. I have got a 3PH spreader that holds about 500-700 lbs. If I remember correctly, it has 7 settings as well. There is a chart on the side of the spreader that gives the proper speed and setting for the desired amount of fertilizer applied. Off the top of my head, I think that if you go about 5 miles per hour and set the spreader at 4, you will have close to 200 lbs per acre. Just the other day I spread fertilizer at the rate of 333 lbs per acre with that spreader. I set the opening at 5 and ran about 6 miles per hour. It did just fine. You will have to play with it a little bit to find the proper setting. Try measuring off an acre of your field, and buy 200 lbs of fertilizer. Take your best guess at the setting, and then spread. If you run out, either go faster or decrease the setting. If you have extra, you should slow down or increase the setting. I hope you figure it out, SF
