Anyone else on here have honey bees? We let a family friend store his hives on our property and we get a portion of the honey that is harvested. This is the second year for the bees. We had 5 hives last year, but only three made it to this year. Our family purchased a package of honeybees this year and here are pictures of our hive. I am the one standing behind the hive and the other guy is the beekeeper. Learning all about being a beekeeper and it sure is a lot of fun. We have a total of six hives on our property this year. The beekeeper owners three of them, and he helps take care of three others that other people have purchased, ours included.
Hopefully we get a good crop of honey this year. Last year we got 130 lbs. of honey from the five hives.
Enjoy the pictures! From Denton, Nebraska. Andrew Kean
