Not enough information. How far away is the elevator? How long are the average waits to unload?
I started with a 1965 Chevy with a 292 and 2 speed axle, 14 foot bed hauled at best 300 bu. Did fine except the elevator is 6 miles away and the wait was at least 2 hours. Combine is a 4400 with 13' head, took 2-3 hours to load so from at the elevator to at the elevator was 5+ hours. Starting in the morning I could get 1 load delivered and 1 loaded. Then I switched to a 10 wheel '78 chevy with 18' foot hauled just about 550 bu. Wait still 2 hours but now I was delivering more to a load. Now I'm using an 18 wheeler, hauls 900-1000 bu. makes the wait FEEL not so bad. But takes all day to load so I deliver 1st thing in the morning every morning till I'm done.
So make an informed decision on the truck. Either one will get 'er done. And it depends on the condition--a broke down truck delivers nothin
