I would lean toward working with Excel then you can do sorts, searches, etc. (you can search with about anything, but excel is closer to an actual database construct.) It should not be difficult to make the spreadsheet into HTML once you have it looking like something. If you let excel do the work for you you should be able to end up with a list sorted by manufacturer as well as part number or description or whatever you decide works.
