should work, might take some time at it though like others have said, i run a 18 inch on my 026 and no probs, and on both of my 028s i have 20 inchers, and they dont bog at all, all my chains are full chisel style too so they bite when they cut..so i dont c why a 310 wouldnt handle a 4 inch longer bar than my 028, cause the 310 is a bigger saw?
