My first planting, 4 May is up about 1 1/2 inches with about 50% Germ rate It was just too cold. When it rained the rain was like ice water. Second planting 11 May is up about 1 inch, with 80% germ. Third planting 17 May is up just a tad and about 95% germ. I do six plantings, try for 10 day intervals, with 200 seeds at a time. The old pointed sovel handle and any 5-10 year old kid I can recruit to drop seeds. Talking to neighbor who has planted S C for years and he swears by an 4-5 inch spacing up the row. I have been using 9. Anyone agree with him? I did four rows 25 feet long at 5 inches as a tes plot. WIll let you know how that works.
