Hi All, I have been using a disc mower for a couple of years now to mow some pretty good hay but this year beats anything I have seen. I have run into some pretty thick hay on about 10 acres and keep on having the problem of hay wrapping itself around the pto shaft as I mow. It wrapped it so tight I had to use a knife to cut it off and had to be at least 6in thick on the shaft. When I cut it off it had melted the plastic pto guard. I also remember having a new holland 451 mower that did the same thing. Does anyone know a trick on how to keep it from doing this? I have taken the guard completely off and it still does it. I have been trying to make sure the unit is level from front to back when I mow and mow in the same direction on each lap. The grass gets so wrapped and hot around the shaft and bearing end that I am afraid it is going to ruin it. Thanks in advance for the help. Joel
