Untill this year, all the alfalfa hay on this farm was chopped for haylage in the Harvestors, and the barns were filled with small square bales each and every year for the last 50 years. This year there has been a big turn-around. The Uncles are both aging and one has been laided up most of the spring. We have had a comercial beef corperation buy up around 2500 Acers of land here and have about 3000 head of various breeds of beef fenced in on rotational pasture plots. They need hay and lots of it! The uncle's contracted with them for their first cutting hay crop. All they have to do is mow it, and rake it. The corprate farm comes in and round bales it and trucks it away at $45 per bale. Today and yesterday we had T storms, but that didn't slow them much. 60% moisture, 1Ton +- bales, 25 per tractor trailer load, and 100 acers later tonight.
