I had a problem with my Mantis starting yesterday. It had good fire to the plug and I installed a new plug and it still wouldn't start.
I removed the plug and pour some gas into the cylinder. Then it would start and quit. I tried removing the gas line at the carburetor and I couldn't get it off so I started squeezing the gas line 4 or 5 times and it started and ran a little longer. So I squeezed the gas line severaL more times and then it started and ran ok and I tilled the garden. I think you should drain the gas from these when you have finished using them for the season. Pour out the gas into your car or any vehicle to use it up. Having oil in it won't hurt anything. Then run the engine until it quits. I did this on my string trimmer last Fall and it started right up. It's a Stihl trimmer and that's what they told me at the dealer. Hal
