You must make sure you ask for the price list. You also have to make sure that the dentist doesnt keep finding things wrong with your teeth, bad filling here, cracked tooth there, plaque overhere....another cleaning is needed.
Dentists pay money for those small machines that make the crowns out of ceramic, But I think that $1400 is a rip off for an hour of work. I have had ingrown toe nails removed in the past. The foot doctor told me point blank that if I didnt have insurance and I had to pay for it all the bill would be 1/2. Now an ingrown toe nail takes about 1 hour to remove. An honest person would charge $100 for the procedure. (good money to me) But I think an ingrown toe nail was $400 or so and the insurance company was socked with the bill.
