This set of diagrams has one for an alternator. It is a three wire setup, but (in my experience the best option). A Hitachi alternator from a 1986 Nissan D21 pickup will work well and is small. The S terminal on the Hitachi is the #2 terminal on the Delco. The L terminal is equal to the #1 terminal. Reverse the leads on the amp meter and replace the bulbs. install the battery negative ground. If it is a mag, leave the ignition alone. If it is a distributor, a ballast resistor is needed, and the coil Plus small terminal needs to be hooked to that, the Neg terminal of the coil goes to the Distributor. Thus reversed from where it is now. A mid 60s chevy resistor is great. Jim
