Gonna go out on a limb, here, Lyle, but I'll bet not many folks just kind of wander through northern Alberta. I think you pretty much have to want to go there. Of course, I could be wrong. Could be THE tourist destination of all of Canada.
Did happen to be in northern Saskatchewan some years ago, and met some interesting people. One guy owned about 20 IH WD-40's- the first International diesel tractor, from the late 1930's, in various states of repair and disrepair. He still farmed with some of them.
He also had every car he'd ever owned, parked in rows on a hillside. Mostly Mopars, dating back to the '40's. Could tell you exactly what was wrong with each one. No, they weren't for sale.
It was a little tense at first, as I just stopped in without introduction- I figured I needed to do some fast "country talkin" to keep from getting shot- but once he decided I wasn't a guvment agent, he softened right up, and we had a fine time.
Wouldn't mind making a road trip through your area some day.
