Yeah, sometimes coulters can be a hastle. like the guys said, stalks, root balls, misc. trash, they are suppose to cut it, so the shin of the plow will make a clean straight edge. In places where the soil will keep a an edge. Where you are, the soil and most crops won't bother you turning ground, so -especially in the hard sunbaked years, coulters will actually keep you from doing a good plowing job. cool looking if you are showing off the plow, and not using it but don't worry about 'needing' them.
