For a combine they only made 750 of, I've sure seen a lot of them in my life. I've read the production numbers in the machine lists, on the IH archives & there are two listings for the #76 Harvester-Thresher (combine). The first listing give a production total of 19,860, the second is 750. I am almost positive the second figure is for the "Rice Special", though the list does not discern between the two. The rice varient of the 76 didn't sell as well as the larger self-propelleds of the time. 3-4000lbs sounds right. Scrap value sounds about right unless there's a ton of paint left & the decals are good. Boards are cheap & easy to make. May be worth saving & posting an ad. Someone in your area might be looking for one for use or parts. Don't know 'till you try.
