They are cute, and though I have to keep em out of the garden and away from other things they can be a nuisance, at this place you just have to work around them, though there are farms in the vicinity that have nuisance permits and would think nothing of running one through a mower, I for one try to avoid all the wildlife and let things be. I made the mistake about 3 weeks ago, of not getting off the tractor when I saw some "wriggling" in the tall grass, (this field should be baled instead of shredded, I just don't have the equipment anymore) it was a newborn fawn and I went right over it with the tractor and rotary mower. I don't care how hardened a person is, still a shameful waste, especially if you look over the ones that frequent your place ( I realize they roam quite a bit ), the only consolation was that there was twins, one lived !
I have in the past in the same area, caught fawns, just to take a look, very frightening for them, so I leave em be, next year, I'll be more careful. All summer she will bring them around and they run/play, often times I watch while having breakfast.
