Does it have a spin on filter?Ive only seen pictures of a JCB backhoe, never even seen one up close. If there is some place that when it gets hot swells up and it can suck air,but when it cools off shrinks up and doesnt suck air, would be my best guess.Take you some wrenches with you and when it starts doing that see if there are any fittings you can tighten up.I used to pull trailers with a Thermo King reefer on them and they have a fuel pump.A lot of times in hot weather the fitting where the line hooks to the tank would be loose and it would do the same thing,or just quit running. On Cummins diesels with the filter head on the fuel pump, they have some allen head screws that hold the filter head to the pump and if you take it off there are some square o rings in there.just put in new square o rings and tighten it back up and it would fix the problem. On other diesels Ive seen a spin on filter be bad where they crimped the seal on it.You couldnt tighten them up enough because it was warped and still would suck air.So there are some ideas,I dont know how much help they are.I would for sure check the fittings from the tank all the way to the fuel pump and see if there are any that are loose. Then if that doesnt work,I think I would call JCB and ask them if they know what would be causing it.Maybe its a common problem and they know what to fix?
