That inlet vent is the thermostat that controls the amount of heat the stove gives off and the sheat metal if it is bad you could get new made and replace and the thermostat springs are enough the same as everyone else they could be retrofitted from one stove to anouther. And even with the air tight stove I put a damper in the pipe after the stove because with all the winds we get without that the thermost damper could not work against all the wind so had to close down the wind so the rest could work properly.
