Don't know about the older models, but got a couple of new ones that were cheap (one $90), and I've run the heck out of them with no problems. Actually like the older ones a little better because they don't have the tool-less chain tightening feature. Many one this site and others have unfairly maligned Poulan. They might not be as quite as good as Husky,Stihl or Jonsered, but for the casual user they are entirely adequate and cost roughly one third of the big names. Do avoid ethanol gas which I would recommend with any chainsaw. So if it runs grab it!

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
