Don't tell me going to the car to get your checkbook is a cultural thing. It's pretty much universal the world over that you bring the means to pay WITH YOU into the store. In most parts of the world you don't even have a car to leave your checkbook in!
In many parts of the world if you don't have the money to pay with you, you get run out of the store, and/or beaten, and/or arrested for vagrancy! They don't give you a chance to run out to your car to get your checkbook. You get clubbed like a baby seal with the 2x4 that you were trying to buy.
