Kuhn! This is the first year for my FC300G. Bought it very used out of Oklahoma. So far I still have less than $2000 in it.
It is really relatively easy to work on. Had to replace one bearing on the flail shaft that was out when I bought it and two gears in the bar that had bad teeth because a bearing went out in the bar from not enough gear lube before I owned it.
I will NEVER go back to using my New Holland 479 haybine. Down and tangled grass is no problem at all for the Kuhn even at 6 MPH or so.
Krone would be my second choice.
Also remember that Deere 1360 is the same basic machine as the Kuhn 300. I can't speak for the other brands, but Kuhn made at least the bars for most of the major manufacturers.
The Kuhn advantage is the fact it is a gear driven bar instead of a belt. DOUG
