Once had to attend a company mandated 3 day leadership class on "Using Persuasion to Accomplish Goals". In the first 5 minutes the instructor "guaranteed" that by using his techniques he could persuade absolutely anyone to do his bidding. He kept stressing this theme throughout the course duration. It was apparently not well received as three students left at course conclusion without being "persuaded" to sign the attendance roster by which the guy got paid. He was quite livid as I recall, unsure how it was resolved.
