The case tractors like to get loose baffles in the muffler and plug her up. They won't rev up or pull anything when that happens but they also smoke like H E double toothpicks. I got into one many yeas ago that was already half way torn down looking for problems. Repaired what I found wrong, fired her up and it ran fine. Next day, that baffle must have got back in the right place to plug muffler and same old crap. Clue on that was it was hissing and blowing smoke out of leakage points ahead of muffler. Far as liking or not liking case, I feel it is mostly familiarity. I was not around them until merger and therefore had little knowledge of their particulars. Then, when something gives you grief you cuss it out because of the brand not because you don't have the answers.
