Actually they were not to bad when new. Foam under the cowl, foam under the hood, foam behind the "4020" side panels, foam on the fender wells, roof panel. Foam gaskets around all windows and doors. Insulated floor mats. Every cab was inspected before it left the factory to make sure all gaskets made good contact. But over the years the foam deteriorated or came loose and was thrown away. Remember these cabs are 40 years old and like anything else need constant upkeep. Also these tractors that were the main tillage tractors in their day are now used as loader or yard tractors so you don't spend long hours everyday running them. So hard to justify spending the time and money to replace all the sound dampening material.
