Everyone I've talked to with a V10 is very happy with the power, if you pulling a lot it will do well. They do use fuel, but I have heard all kinds of mpg from 7-8 to 11-12. I'd believe more towards the lower end of those. As for the 5.4 the earlier, 2 valves were the ones that had the spark plug blowing out issues, wouldn't say it was an epidemic. about 98-02 were the head gasket oil leak years. The 04 to about 07 or so have the ridiculous design spark plugs that are a b%tch to get out.Thats the 5.4 3V version, pretty good power and if you take it to someone who knows what he is doing they can usually get the plugs out with mininal catastrophe. Just keep in mind the plugs list for $25 apiece. Personally I reccomend leaving them alone unless you have an issue.For the most part they are very reliable engines.
