Term limits has been a disaster in Michigan. Most of the bills introduced are now written by lobbyist's of one persuasion or another. Our local state senator (R) even got in trouble for introducing a bill that he had never even read. And the term limited guys are all looking to hook up with a lobbying firm or run for another office. None of them wants to go back to whatever they were doing before, it's how do I stay in Lansing. At least the old pols stayed in the job and knew how to do it. None of these guys want to make any tough decisions, it's what do the $$$ say - the lobbying firms. The lobbyist's now run the state legislature.
