I have an '08 F350 with the 5.4. I pull a skid loader and a John Deere G with it (seperatly of course). It does the job fine, just takes a little longer and is definitly not overpowered. On the highway, unloaded, I've gotten 15mpg out of it, but general driving it's more like 13.5. Between company trucks and personal trucks, this is my 4th 5.4, and the only problems I ever have are exhaust manifolds warping, I think from them heating up towing trailers over our mountains. I've changed the manifolds on both sides of every truck I've had except this last one. I don't even mind doing it anymore. My Uncle bought an '08 F350 with the v10. His milage is 11.5-12 with a lot of stop and go driving checking cows. I know of a 99 v-10 with over 350,000 miles and still going. As little as my personal truck gets driven, I would have rather had the v10 now, and traded the 1-2mpg difference for a more power.
