The whole idea looks to me like the basis for the old joke where a woman's check bounced and she couldn't understand why. When she went to the bank and was told there was no money in her account her reply was that, 'there had to be money there because she still had checks.' Basically the country is broke so to make it look like we're not let's make it OK to borrow more. There used to be an old saying that depicted the idea of being broke but having and spending money on credit, etc to make it look like you weren't broke....but I won't say it in this politically correct setting so things don't go poof....even though the current administration 'resembles' the saying.........
