I have a 8000# winch. When I had my trailer built they put a 2" receiver tube mounted verticaly between the scrub rail and the trailer frame and it is also welded to the tube that comes back from the hitch. I made up a bracket that will hold the winch and just sit it down into the receiver. I do put a pin in it so that it can"t come out accidential when using it or when hauling doen the road. Don"t get the piece of tubing that sits into the receiver too high, as that just gives it more leverage to work against the receiver. I think mine is around 12" above the receiver. I also went to a local truck tarp maker and had a cover made up so the winch is protected from the weather when on the road, especialy winter time. The winch and bracket is a little heavy to remove and put in the shop or truck, but that was my choce to make that way. Sorry I don"t have any pictures of it and I"m not near the trailer at the present time. Brian
