Rifle season started about a month ago here, but that is reserved for the farmers who get nuisance permits from the DNR. My neighbor stopped by a few weeks ago and asked if he could shoot the deer eating the crops, and I told him to shoot as many as he could.
We are completely over run with deer here, I have a doe with twin fawns living almost in my yard, and the other night the twins were laying down in my front yard less than 25 feet from my front door.
Unfortunately, I live in very good hunting ground for whitetail deer, but it seems few hunters take very many during the hunting season. Lots of ground leased out to outfitters who only get hunters who want a trophy buck, and won't fill permits on does.
