I'll do most anything for immediate family, "siblings, or my kids" Siblings pay for fuel, kids pay nothing.
I will NOT loan any piece of equipment to anyone. Best they be mad than me.
I loaned a neighbor a zero turn mower a few years ago to cut his 5 acres because his broke and was "in the shop". He "borrowed" that mower every two weeks until the end of growing season. Never once sharpened the blades, or put fuel in it.....then come April he waltzed over to get it again.
Told him it'd have to grow until his got "out of the shop". He's been cutting the grass around the house with a walk behind mower, which is about 1/2 acre and the rest of it is 3ft tall or more.
Turns his head every time he sees me now. Guess he thought he had a "right" to use my equipment whenever he wanted.
And no, he's not down on his luck... I have no idea what the problem is but he bought a $40K truck while he was borrowing my mower..
