Hi all YTMAG readers. I know my Uncle Charles, a regular on this site, posted some time ago, letting you all know about our journey. Things have been going very well, all things considered. We departed from Charlottetown on July 1st, and I now type from downtown Ottawa, so we"re making our way west nicely.
Just to refresh your memories, we"re driving a brand new, donated Massey 1660, and drawing a 22 foot tandem axle, on which Uncle Charlie and I built a little sleeping cabin. The purpose of our journey is to film a documentary about the status of family farming in Canada. The Massey"s managing just fine, though the R4"s are showing a good deal of wear by this point; we"ve had 4 flats on the trailer so far.
We"ve compiled some 50 hours of interview footage (with farmers) so far. I can"t say exactly which "direction" I"ll be taking the final documentary, but I certainly won"t be facing a lack of footage.
I"ll post some photos of various vintage tractors we"ve encountered along the way. Also, please drop by our website and, by all means, send along any ideas/suggestions you all may have.
