The traction booster is used to provide lift on the implement, Mostly plows, to give extra traction on the rear wheels. Look under the tractor for a link from the drawbar to the hydraulic pump. As the load compresses the drawbar spring, this link to the pump causes pressure on the lift arms, thus transfering weight to the rear wheels. The guage tells about how much pressure is being applied
