I'll keep that in mind about the pressure cycling switch. I've added freon and for a while got the low side line to feel cool to the touch. The line by the drier was red hot.
My daughter has to leave in a while so I guess I'll quit a failure less $30 in freon.
I have it where now where if I jump the low side switch, the compressor will run full time but it doesn't want to take much for freon. When I put the low pressure switch connector back on it sits there and cycles on for a second and cycles off for second all the while the pressure bouncing between 45 and 25 and it wouldn't take much freon. Every once in a while, I would bleed off the high pressure side a little just to see if it would take more freon but that didn't do much except stop the compressor from cycling.
Thanks for the help. Unless I can trouble shoot this some more and identify a part, I guess it might be headed to the shop to see if it has a leak. I put some dye in it to start with and so far don't see any leaks unless it is around the condenser.
I'll monitor this thread to see if anyone else has an idea.
