Actually, if you get right down to looking at the current CNH lineup... the tractors are now derived heavily from products of Fiat heritage. Nearly all of the Ford and Case/IH heritage is gone from the present models and it's gone in favor of Fiat components. Fiat/Hesston tractors never had anything to do with Allis Chalmers designs. Fiat has been building tractors for a long time. About as long as Ford was... and certainly longer than AC. That's not to say that I think Fiat builds a great tractor... or a terrible tractor. They seem to concentrate on something in the middle. Just about the minimum of what the market will tolerate and still pay decent to big money for...
