Goose, I live just north of Rock Port, MO. Used to be only 20 miles from Neb City, still am as the crow flies. Hwy 2 east of Neb City and Hwy 136 east of Brownville are closed, both still have water over them and major damage. I-29 in Iowa also has significant damage, and water still on it as well. Only 2 options to drive to NW Missouri: 1)thru Omaha and south on either Hwy 275 at Glenwood, IA, Hwy 59 at Avoca, IA (off I-80), or Hwy 71 at Atlantic, IA (also off I-80), or 2)thru St. Joseph, MO and north on I-29 (or whatever road takes you to your destination). Today's Featured Article - 12-Volt Conversions for 4-Cylinder Ford 2000 & 4000 Tractors - by Tommy Duvall. After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
